 JJB Sport, Thanet Client: JJB Sports Plc Value: £2.6m Dates: 5|06 > 9|06   This 20 week on site project consisted of the complete fit out of a new Health and Fitness Centre to a first floor shell at the newly constructed Westwood Cross Shopping Centre in Thanet, Kent. The main focus of the works was the co-ordination and installation of the M&E services linked with the pool plant. The temperatures required for the suite are critical in terms of cooling and as such require careful design work. The installation included two new 7 metre rise escalators, all mechanical and electrical services, new air conditioning systems, new blockwork and stud partitions to form changing facilities. In addition, a new goods lift, the installation of a stainless steel pool and all associated services, provision of a steam room and two spa pools are also being provided. Four internal plant mezzanines were also provided for plant for both the health club and retail outlet. Extensive ceramic wall and floor tiling to the toilets and changing facilities were provided. New reception desk and access control systems were installed along with vinyl and carpet floor finishes and sprung flooring to the aerobics suite.
